7th-8th Jamboree Details

The WBYL 7th-8th Jamboree is this Saturday, May 10th, first game is at 9:30 AM. Read down for a complete schedule for the day. Vashon’s first game is 11:00 AM.

All games will be played at Game Farm Park in Auburn WA, 3030 R Street SE.; turf fields, not grass
Here are driving directions:
From I-5 or Hwy 167, take the Hwy 18 East. Take the Auburn-Enumclaw exit. At the end of the ramp, turn left onto Auburn Way South. Continue south on Auburn Way. At the intersection of ‘M’ Street, be in the right hand lane to take Howard Road. At the end of the Howard Road, take a right onto ‘R’ St. SE. Continue through the light at 29th S.E. The park is on your left.

Game Format:
Each game will be 4 - 10 minute quarters, running clock, with a 5 minute half time.
Each team will have 2 time-outs per half. There will be no overtime in event of a tie.

7th-8th Jamboree Announced

Information regarding the May 10th Jamboree is starting to come out.

Vashon will take one combined team.

Location: Lake Tapps – they have two new turf fields.

It’s a double elimination tournament, games will be played for I hour only, the next game will start 15 minutes after previous game ends.  This is pretty standard tournament play.

Start time is 9 am, Vashon will not be scheduled for the first game times (they understand ferry travel), the last game time is 5:45 pm.

The team will need a score keeper for each game.

There will be concessions and t-shirts for purchase at the tournament.

Team Coordinator Cathy West will send additional details later by team e-mail.

Vashon 7/8 scores: Apr. 12

The Vashon 7/8 teams went over to Seattle last weekend, with the Black team coming up with a big win against North Seattle. The Green team lost a tight game to Central Seattle. Next Saturday we have our last home games with University Place.

Two Wins for 7/8

Here is a little run down on the games on 3/29:
Vashon Green 7
Kitsap 2

Goals scored by: CJ – 1, Orion - 2, Ben R. - 3 and 1 assist, Tanner - 1, and Jacob T. 1 assist.  We only had one player to sub so the guys played really hard and did a great job.

Vashon Black 12
Lake Tapps 2

Goals scored by:  Duncan - 2, Dan L. - 4 and 1 assist, Konnar - 1, Chris - 3 and 1 assist, Luke - 1 and 1 assist, John S. - 1 and 1 assist, Walker 1 assist.  A big part of our success was Deven winning all those face-offs!  Great job by the strong Vashon defense to pull off this big victory.
