Vashon Lacrosse Club

The Vashon Lacrosse Club is dedicated to promoting the game of lacrosse and providing the opportunities for Vashon’s young men and women to participate in the “fastest sport on two feet.”

Lacrosse is also the fastest growing youth sport in America. Vashon has Varsity and JV teams (Division II) at the high school level, a 7th/8th team and now has two 5th-6th teams due to the increasing number of players. Our hope is to build on this interest from younger players and to be able to offer skills clinics to the 4th grade level in the future.

The VLC wants to see every youth who wishes to play is able to join. Scholarships are provided to players if financial constraints would prevent them from participating. Players are expected to provide their own gear, but some loaner gear is available through the club on an as-needed, first-come basis. It goes quickly, so ask to see what we have. With the number of players rapidly increasing, it’s harder to have enough gear to meet all requests. If you have sticks, pads or gloves in good condition that your player has outgrown or is no longer using (or you know someone who does), let us know if you would like to donate it to the club.

Our teams are co-ed and play “Boys Lacrosse,” with young women playing at all levels. Right now, there aren’t enough players to form a “Girls Lacrosse” team, but that could change. The Girls game requires the same types of stick skills used in “Boys Lacrosse,” but it is a non-contact sport and there are differences in number of players, field layout and rules. If you have experience in coaching “Girls Lacrosse” or would like to try starting a Girls team, please contact the VLC.
