You Are In: Girl's Team
The Girl’s team held their first practice last Saturday, the first Vashon girls team in eight years. 16 players came out to work with Coach Carly to learn the fundamentals and they’re doing fantastic. Keep up the great work.
Practices will begin on Sunday, March 2nd and continue through the week of April 27th.
Practice times will be Sunday 2-4 pm and Thursday, 3:30-5:00 pm at the field adjacent to the covered play area at Chautauqua. This space will enable us to use the walls for bounce-back practice.
All players must have a girls stick, lacrosse goggles, cleats and mouthguard. Sticks are around $34.99 and goggles $45.99 at Joes. There are many on-line stores you can order from as well; http://www.lax.com and http://www.qclax.com are two reliable sources. The club is requesting an additional equipment grant from Vashon Parks but it will come later in the season. We only have 2 sticks and 1 pair of goggles left in our loaner gear inventory.
Coaches Lipitz and Miller are really excited about getting started on Sunday March 2 with our new Girls Team. We are still awaiting word on which field will be available starting that date. please check back for updates as we get them.
