Vultures In The Playoffs

Congratulations to the Vultures Varisty and Vultures JV for their season finale wins against Northshore. In a must-win game, the Vultures Varsity came up with a big overtime win 11-10 and captured the final playoff spot as the #8 seed.
That last home game was also Senior Night and our opportunity to acknowledge our Vulture Class of ‘09: Ross Bowers, Justin Hagerty, Jack Lorence, Mike Pruett, Chad Richardson, Joe Shigley, Aedan Weber and Wyatt Williams.
The Vultures will be playing #1 seed Mercer Island on their home turf this Friday. Face-off is at 7 PM, hope to see a lot of our supporters there, it will be an exciting game.

This Week - May 11-17

For the Vultures, it all comes down to this week in their battle for a playoff slot. On Tuesday, the Vultures travel to Issaquah, with the JV starting at 5:30 PM and the Varsity facing off at 7:30 PM. The Vultures finish their season at home on Friday, taking on the 08 D-II champs, Northshore. JV begins at 5:30 PM and Varsity takes the field at 7:30 PM. The Friday game is also SENIOR NIGHT and our chance to recognize a great group of young men.
Saturday May 16 is also our last chance to see the Vashon Youth teams at home. The Boys 7/8 Team opens the morning at 10 AM against Puyallup. Next up, the 5/6 Boys play at noon, hosting Gig Harbor. The Girls 5/6 team has the final game of the day, taking on the Snohomish Red team at 2 PM.
The girls complete a busy weekend, going on the road to face off with the Snohomish Black team in another 2 PM game on Sunday, May 17.

This Week: 4/20 - 26

The Curtis Vikings come to Vashon on Weds., with Vulture’s varsity kicking off the evening in an earlier start at 5 PM. The Vulture’s JV plays under the lights with a a 7 PM face-off.
Friday night is the rescheduled Vulture’s JV game against Bainbridge. They meet at 7 PM at VHS Stadium.
On Saturday, the Boys Youth teams are off to Puyallup. The 7/8 team plays at 10 AM and the 5/6 Boys go next, facing off at noon.
The Girl’s 5/6 team wraps up the weekend games, hosting Queen Anne at VHS Soccer Field, face-off is at noon.

JV Games Rescheduled

Due to travel complications for Bainbridge Island JV team, the Vultures JV game originally scheduled for 4/15 is re-scheduled for Friday, April 24 at 7 PM. Please continue to check our posted schedules for updates and maps to away games.

This Week: 4/13 - 18

Spring Break is over and we’ve got a lot of home games on the schedule. The Vultures have two big games, hosting Bainbridge on Wednesday at 7 PM and the JV Vultures’ game with Bainbridge is scheduled to begin at 5 PM, but as of now this may be rescheduled; check back for updates. On Friday, the Vultures are traveling to Bellevue for a 7:30 PM face-off, JV plays at 5:30 PM.
On Saturday, The Vashon 7/8 team plays at home, taking on Bainbridge Gold, face off is at 10 AM, followed at noon by the Vashon 5/6 Boys going up against Kitsap 5/6.
The Girls 5/6 team rounds out the week on Sunday, meeting the Bainbridge Blue team at 11 AM.

This Week - 3/30 - 4/4

The Vultures are on the road this week, with the Varsity traveling to Lakeside on Tuesday for a 5 PM face-off (JV game was cancelled) and then both Varsity and JV have play at Tahoma HS in Maple Valley on Saturday. JV begins at 5 PM and Varisty is under the lights starting at 7 PM.
With the start of Spring Break, no Youth games are scheduled for 5/6 and 7/8 this week. League play will resume April 18.

Vultures Opener

It’s the start of the Vashon Vultures ‘09 season this week. Boys Varsity and JV both start at home against the Puyallup Panthers on Friday, March 20. The JV team is facing off at 5:30 PM and then Varsity takes the field at 7:30 PM. Hope to see everyone up at the high school stadium.

College Lacrosse Vultures

With the start of the Vultures high school games this week, it has just been announced that another Vultures alumni will be continuing his lacrosse career in college. Eric Davidheiser has been accepted at Penn State University and will be playing D-1 next season.
Eric is the latest, but there are several Vulture alumni playing at the collegiate level. Other post-grad Vultures playing this year include Derek Kimbrough at Notre Dame De Namur; Tyler Nicoll at Norwich University; Alex Craighead at University of Oregon, Nick Wilks at Chapman University; Alex Garabedian at Washington State University; Tanner Means at University of Washington and Matt Bush at Portland State University.

2009 Season Openers

The 2009 season begins this weekend with three home games. The Boy’s 7th/8th team hosts Tacoma at the VHS soccer field, facing off at 10 AM. The Boy’s 5th/6th faces off at noon against the Tacoma 5th/6th team at the same field. The 5th/6th Girls begin their first full schedule on Sunday, March 15. Vashon meets Mercer Island on the VHS soccer field at noon. So three great games with some great young players, see you there.

The on-line registration on our site is now closed. If your child is interested in joining a youth team please contact a team coordinator, as some teams still have openings. Send an e-mail to and it will be directed to the coordinator. Or come to one of the games or practices to talk with them.
