Alumni game for 07
The annual Vashon Lacrosse Club’s Alumni vs. High School game took place on Sunday, December 30, 2007. The Alumni (pictured in back row with white jerseys) came ready to win and beat the High School (pictured in front row in green jerseys) 13-7. Some of our alums are on the rosters at University of Washington, Washington State University, Chapman University and University of Oregon. If there are more alumni playing for other schools, please tell us so we can recognize them also.

08 Registration Forms Available
All the 08 Registration Forms can now be downloaded from our site. This includes the registration for the new Girl’s Lacrosse team, a Gear Form for loaner equipment and the 2008 Players & Parents Handbook. If you’re a returning player, look for a packet in the mail. For new players or if you just want to get the paperwork done early, you’ll find them in Forms and Docs.

2008 Coaching Fellowship Offered
The Vashon Lacrosse Club is seeking applicants for a Coaching Fellowship for the 2008 season. Interested candidates can download the information sheet from our Forms and Docs page. The ideal candidate will be a recent college graduate with college lacrosse experience and have an interest and enthusiasm for working with young lacrosse players. We are looking for an individual who can bring and teach up-to -ate competitive lacrosse techniques. Our previous Coaching Fellows played their college lacrosse at Utica College, University of Virginia and Syracuse University.

Girls’ Lacrosse Team
For 2008, we will be starting a Girl’s Lacrosse team for 5th, 6th and 7th grade girls. Since this is our first season, we want to use this opportunity to begin developing our younger players and then expand the program to the high school level as our girl’s move up. If you are interested in playing, Registration Night will be on Weds. January 16 at 7 PM at Vashon high School.
Girl’s lacrosse is a bit different from the boy’s lacrosse. It’s non-contact with a real emphasis on stick skills due to the shallower pocket on the stick head.
